CREDC PROVIDES FINANCING FOR
BROTHER & SISTER EXPANSION IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

HARRISBURG, PA (March 12, 2013) – The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (Chamber & CREDC) announced today that it closed on a $1,083,2000 SBA 504 loan to Brother and Sister Food Service, Inc. on Friday March 8, 2013.  This financing tool provided funding to support the borrower’s expansion into a new facility at 811 Spangler Road, Camp Hill, Cumberland County, PA, which will first be used for consolidating storage facilities with possible future plans to include housing the company’s production lines.  The SBA 504 loan along with financing from M&T Bank and equity sources supported an economic impact to the region of over $2.7 million.

 

Brother & Sister Food Service, Inc. is owned by the father and son partnership of Aziz and Vedad Sahovic and has been a producer of smoked and packaged meat products in our region since 1998.  They have a wide variety of products including dried meats, sausage, salami and ethnic foods including pates which are distributed domestically and internationally.

 

This company is a long term client of CREDC.  Brother & Sister received its first economic development loan from CREDC in 2003 to purchase equipment to support a growing product line.  This is the 4th project CREDC helped to finance for the company.  Throughout their growth and the addition of jobs, CREDC also helped to finance the purchase smoking equipment and warehousing space for their growing shipping operation.
