Central Pennsylvania Adds 8,000 non-farm Payroll Jobs Over the Year

Midstate unemployment improved slightly in September, as the region added 8,000 seasonally adjusted nonfarm jobs over the year, according to the latest report from the state Department of Labor and Industry.

Harrisburg-Carlisle and Lancaster County added 5,400 and 3,500 jobs, respectively, since September 2013. Lebanon County added 200, while York-Hanover lost 1,100 jobs over the year, according to the September report.
