Warehouse Activity Indicates an Improved Market

During the recent recession, the building and leasing of warehouses was almost obsolete. Recently, however, there has been new construction for some of the first speculative buildings in Central Pennsylvania since 2008. This new construction shows that there is improved confidence in the market and an economy that is improving. Many of these new warehouse deals have been right here in our own area. Hillwood is a Dallas Texas real estate management firm that recently sold 2 properties, a 1.2 million square foot warehouse near Newville and a 600,000 square foot warehouse in Carlisle. Consumer products companies and retailers are much more interested now that people are spending a little more. This shows that there is confidence in the market because of this increase in demand of warehouses and an increase in economic activity in central Pennsylvania.
