Hershey Among Best Cities in Pennsylvania for Young Families

San Francisco, CA  – NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy website, conducted a study on the best towns in Pennsylvania for young families, and Hershey is in the top ten.  To find the best places for future parents and young families to settle down, NerdWallet analyzed data from 90 Pennsylvania cities according to five criteria:

  1. Public school ratings
  2. Median home value
  3. Cost of homeownership
  4. Median income
  5. Economic growth

NerdWallet ranked Hershey eighth after assessing the town’s cost of living, education system, and economic growth. The town’s school district received an excellent nine-out-of-ten rating from the nonprofit, GreatSchools.

“Located about 15 miles from Harrisburg, Hershey is known as the Sweetest Place on Earth because the world-famous chocolates of the town’s name are made here,” said NerdWallet analyst Mike Anderson. “However, the town is not just a popular landmark. It offers a strong school district that is held in high regard throughout the state.”
