Production, Processing, and Programming: Innovative Careers in Manufacturing

The purpose of the event is to bust current common myths and change the perceptions about the industry by making students aware of manufacturing opportunities, the education requirements to pursue them, and career paths to drive success.
Here in South Central Pennsylvania, manufacturing is top in employment, providing jobs to more than 132,000 workers and generating $13.5 billion in annual GDP. To highlight the industry’s success in our region and emphasize the opportunities for manufacturing careers, it is essential to engage with students, the sector’s future workforce, choosing to explore and pursue careers in manufacturing in the next three to five years.  Over the past 18 months, the Harrisburg Regional Chamber’s Education & Business Partnership Committee has explored the Pennsylvania Career Education & Work Standards around Career Awareness, Preparation, Acquisition, Retention, Advancement, and Entrepreneurship. We are excited to maintain the momentum of this effort by highlighting the Manufacturing Industry.
Production, Processing, and Programming: Innovative Careers in Manufacturing will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Capital Area Intermediate Unit (55 Miller Street, Enola) from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Exhibitors are encouraged to bring hands-on materials (gadgets and gizmos) and informational items related to manufacturing careers and/or educational experiences for the participants to explore. Your investment of $40.00 provides you with a table and two chairs. Space is limited, so register early!
To take part in Production, Processing, and Programming: Innovative Careers in Manufacturing, please complete the registration form and return it to the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC.
